Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang played with a flock of microduck robots during his keynote at the company’s GTC Berlin conference, and the video went viral this month.

Preorders for the Microducks have surpassed 20,000 units and are expected to arrive in time for Christmas, making them holiday bestsellers.

The robots, making tiny R2-D2 noises, sat, fell down for a “nap,” and somersaulted on voice command.

Microducks are open-source devices produced by Pollen Robotics, a company Hugging Face — an Nvidia company acquired in 2025.

This is actually Hugging Face’s second robot, after the Reachy Mini.

Microducks are trained using Nvidia’s technology stack, where simulations teach them basic tricks (walk, sit, stand, etc.) that they ship with. Pollen says that owners can train their robots with new tricks and then share them with the community.
